How do I get removal quotes?
Start a quote and answer the questions on our form to tell removal companies what you need doing. Once you have submitted your details we match you with relevant removal companies, who review your requirements and get in touch to provide a quote. Your contact details go to the removal companies matched to your enquiry. Our privacy policy sets out how your data is handled.
Why do you need my contact details?
Removal firms need your contact details, including a phone number, in order to quote. Quotes are not shown instantly online after you submit your requirements: removal companies contact you directly. Sometimes they can quote over the phone or by email, but often they will want to visit first. It depends on the scale of the move and the individual companies involved.
How does Removals Quoter work?
First you submit your requirements, giving the details of your move and your contact details. Those requirements are then filtered so that relevant removal companies - ones capable of and available for the work - can see your details. Removal companies that want to quote on your job contact you directly.
How many removal companies will contact me to quote?
The removal companies matched to your enquiry - firms that cover your area and handle your type of move. How many that is depends on how many suitable firms are available for your dates, so it varies by move.
Do I have to enter payment details?
No. Our service is free to use, and you never enter payment details on our site. If you find a removal company you want to use, you pay them directly.
What happens after I submit my requirements?
We filter local removal companies that have the capability to meet your needs. Those that would like to quote then get in touch with you. If you are happy with one of their quotes and the service they are offering, you may choose to hire them - there is no obligation to.
How long does it take to receive quotes?
If there is a lot of interest in your job you should hear from removal firms quickly, often within the hour. If there is less interest it may take longer, perhaps a day or so. If you have had no responses within two or three days it is usually because removal firms are not interested in the job, because of your location, the type of move, or their availability. Enquiries submitted late in the evening or over a weekend may take a little longer.

Removal companies are filtered on the information you give on the form. If you need a removal service in London, that is what you are matched with; if you need one in Birmingham, you receive quotes from removal firms covering Birmingham.
What security measures do you have in place?
The site is served over HTTPS, the standard for an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. Personal information you submit is handled in line with UK GDPR - our privacy policy, linked below and in the footer, sets out how it is stored, who it is shared with and how long it is kept.
What happens if I do not hire a removal company I am matched with?
Quotes carry no obligation. If you choose not to hire a removal firm you found through our site, or you do not go ahead with the move, nothing happens.
Do you guarantee the quality of a removal company's work?
No. Each removal firm is independent and does not work on our behalf. The best way to be confident is to talk to the companies that contact you, ask questions, look them up online, and judge whether they are a good fit. It is also worth being clear about the work you want done and agreeing it in writing, with the price and timescale, before the move.
Should I pay a deposit before the job starts?
Sometimes a removal company asks for a deposit before starting, usually for larger moves, long-distance relocations, or moves booked well in advance. They may also ask during peak periods or to hold a particular slot. Any deposit is a matter between you and the removal company, so check what it covers and whether it is refundable before you pay it.
